Sponsoring BALPPA’s Summer Meeting 2009
Oakwood Theme Park, Wales’ premier theme park and one of the UK’s top 10, has installed VENPoS from Vennersys to handle ticketing and admissions for the new season.
The new system, which became operational at the weekend (April 4th) will cut down on queuing time and improve the overall visitor experience.
Vennersys managed all aspects of the project, including the provision and commissioning of server and till hardware, software installation, user training and go live support.
The whole project was delivered in record time, ensuring the Aspro-owned Pembrokeshire theme park was ready for the start of the new season and the Easter holidays.
Commenting on the implementation, Sue Elaiho, Aspro’s UK Finance Director, said: “Oakwood is a major tourist attraction welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.
“We wanted to install a reliable system that can meet the expectations of our visitors in terms of speed and efficiency of operations at our front entrances.
“We’re delighted with Vennersys’ direct, no-nonsense approach and their ability to install a complex system in such a short space of time.”
Oakwood Theme Park was acquired by Aspro Ocio S.A., one of Europe’s leading operators of theme parks and aquaria, in 2008.
An existing user of VENPoS at two of its other UK sites, Deep Sea World and Blue Planet Aquarium, the company needed to get VENPoS installed and operational in just three weeks in readiness for the start of the 2009 season.
Aspro is a Spanish multinational which operates indoor and outdoor water parks, zoological collections, amusement parks and aquaria in eight European countries.
Their portfolio encompasses 38 attractions, of which 13 are in Spain, nine in France, eight in the United Kingdom, five in Finland, one in Portugal, one in Switzerland and one in Belgium.
